(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Veterans will honor those who served in Vietnam this June.

A three-day commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the war is scheduled for the Mall of America from the 13th to the 15th. Temporary exhibits from the Minnesota Military and Veterans Museum will be on display.

At 11:00 a.m. on Friday, the 14th, a ceremony will combine music, speakers, and storytelling to celebrate the heroism and sacrifice made by Marines, pilots, sailors, and soldiers in Southeast Asia. When the program is over, officials are planning a complimentary brunch for Vietnam veterans.

Commissioner Brad Lindsay says, “We hope this event will provide gratitude and healing for our Veterans, our allies and their families, and provide them the opportunity to connect with other Vietnam Veterans and learn about valuable resources available to them.”
