(KNSI) – St. Cloud is holding a public hearing to rezone 54.8 acres to allow single-family homes to be built.

The owners of the Harvest Creek development want to change the land’s designation from agriculture (AG) to residential (R1) to allow the construction of about 65 homes over the next decade. The property is located west of 64th Avenue North and south of Northwood Lane.

The planning commission approved the project on April 9th. Several speakers asked questions about traffic in the area and had concerns over the condition of nearby roads. The feedback on the project was mostly positive.

The public hearing will be on May 6th, during the St. Cloud City Council meeting.
