(KNSI) – Two children suffered substantial injuries, and one was flown to a Twin Cities hospital, after a driver hit them and an adult in a St. Cloud crosswalk Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the children’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A six-year-old was airlifted to Children’s Minnesota hospital, and a 10-year-old was taken there by ground ambulance. The adult was not taken to the hospital.

The crash happened just before 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of 15th Avenue Southeast and University Drive Southeast. Investigators say 56-year-old Nancy Thelen of St. Cloud was turning from University Drive onto 15th Avenue when she hit the three people with her vehicle.

Thelen was cited for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.

Police have not released the names of the injured.
