(KNSI) — The National Weather Service has upgraded our freeze watch to a freeze warning for a little more than the St. Cloud area.
The watch is in effect from midnight to 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17th. The overnight low is expected to dip to 31.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Fun fact: this watch is only issued when temps get to a point where they may damage or kill unharvested crops, which would end the growing season.
The first freeze around here usually happens on October 13th.
