(KNSI) – St. Cloud Technical and Community College students will compete later this month in Orlando at the DECA International Career Development Conference, thanks to St. Cloud Subaru.
General manager, Bobby Konnight, is an SCTCC grad.
Last month, Annalisa Gieser from Holdingford took second at the state competition in fashion merchandising to qualify. Montanna Jenson of Watkins and Kenneth Horn of Melrose finished in second and third places, respectively in professional sales to earn their slots. Dannilee Olson of Milaca was first in sales. That success earned them a spot at worlds.
Geiser says, “This is my second year competing in DECA. We went to Baltimore last year and Bobby is the reason I was able to go. The fact that he was able to do it again this year was amazing.”
DECA focuses on entrepreneurial skills in finance, hospitality, management, and marketing. The organization provides over $200,000 in scholarships to students each year at the high school and college levels.
