(KNSI) — A 26-year-old from Sauk Centre charged with criminal sexual conduct after getting a 14-year-old girl pregnant has pleaded guilty.
Investigators say the victim’s mother called police on January 19th to report her daughter was pregnant and that Gage Loyde-Richmond McCurley was the father.
Police interviewed the girl, and she stated she’d known McCurley for about two years. According to the criminal complaint, she had sex with McCurley at least twice in a car in Sauk Centre, and she was now pregnant. The victim told police that McCurley was the father of her child.
McCurley was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The maximum penalty for that is 15 years in prison. According to court records, McCurley could get a 36-month stay of execution for five years, credit for time served with no additional jail time, ten-year conditional release, and register as a predatory offender for ten years.
He would also have to undergo a psychosexual evaluation and follow recommendations and a pre-sentencing investigation, which would look at his criminal history and how it plays into his current offense. According to a court records search, McCurley has no previous sexually based offenses.
McCurley will be sentenced on June 1st.
