(KNSI) – Police are investigating a shots fired incident at Plymouth Middle School Monday morning.
Police say about 8:45 a.m., someone fired several shots into the ceiling in one part of the building shortly after school started. School officials say the person who pulled the trigger is a student at the school and a gun was recovered at the scene.
Officers responded quickly and got the situation under control. One person was taken into custody, and no one was hurt.
Plymouth Middle School was placed in lockdown, and students were dismissed to their parents at a nearby high school.
Why the gun was at school and what precipitated the shooting is under investigation.
