(KNSI) — A 28-year-old Motley woman is in custody after leading Morrison County deputies on a motorcycle chase that ended in her arrest, aided by tips from local residents.
Morrison County deputies attempted to stop two motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 10 north of Royalton around 4:30 p.m. on June 15th. Both fled northbound, and deputies terminated the pursuit a short time later due to safety concerns. They continued monitoring the motorcycles, which eventually separated and traveled in different directions.
Deputies later re-engaged one of the motorcycles as it exited Highway 10 south of Little Falls. They followed it at normal traffic speeds through a residential area near the golf course before the driver abandoned the bike and fled on foot.
Security camera footage from a resident showed the suspect walking along the river, prompting law enforcement to establish a perimeter in the area. The suspect was later seen getting into a vehicle, apparently attempting to leave. Officers with the Little Falls Police Department stopped the driver, who was taken into custody without incident.
The woman remains in custody pending formal charges.
