CSAH 81 Construction Enters New Phase, Closing Road in Waite Park

(KNSI) – As a new phase of the Stearns County Highway 81 project begins, a significant portion of the road in Waite Park will be shut down to all traffic.

Come Monday, CSAH 81, more commonly known as 3rd Street North, is closed from 12th Avenue North to Waite Avenue, just west of the Crossroads Center mall. That includes the intersection at 10th Avenue, one of the primary north-south roads in the area. The Highway Department recommends using Waite Avenue/44th Avenue North to connect between Veterans Drive in St. Cloud and Division Street in Waite Park as a detour.

The 10th Avenue intersection closure is expected to last for three weeks. The 3rd Street project won’t be completely wrapped up until mid-October. The work includes removing and replacing curbs and gutters, some of the storm sewer, and pavement.
