(KNSI) – The Paynesville Area Community Foundation has announced over $45,000 is going to five nonprofits making a big difference in the community.

The senior center is receiving the largest award, $20,000 for its daily meal program. It serves the elderly and younger adults with disabilities.

The Paynesville Lions are in line for $9,600 so they can add lightweight grills, a covered trailer, and other features to the “Town and Country Days” hamburger stand. A new refrigeration unit will improve food safety of their customers.

Elrosa Fire and Rescue is getting new battery-operated Jaws of Life units. The hope is the equipment will reduce call times along the Highway 71 corridor.

United Way of Central Minnesota has been tabbed for $4,600 to continue handing out free children’s books through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. Lastly, the Crow River Trail Guards are getting $3,500 for its Outdoor Adventures Rewards program.
