(KNSI) – The Minnesota Twins are teaming up with the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum for a grand slam offer sure to make souvenir collectors salivate.
The team had over 50 unique bobbleheads lying around in storage that it donated to the museum. From there, they are being packed into different mystery boxes and shipped out to customers. The price is only $40 for a handful of the collectibles.
Museum President and CEO Phil Sklar says residents in Twins Territory are the only Major League fans with this opportunity. “Everybody will get at least five unique bobbleheads in there, and we put these together so you’ll get a mix of players, and there’s mascots. There’s some special edition ones like there’s Sesame Street, they did a Big Bird bobblehead in Twins theme.”
Sklar says when he saw how many collectibles were involved, he knew it was the perfect opportunity to do something special for fans of Minnesota’s hometown nine to tie into National Bobblehead Day.
“We get a lot of bobbleheads from teams and organizations, but not always this quantity and variety of bobbleheads. Obviously, we kept one of each for the museum, if we didn’t already have it, and that added to our Twins collection. And, for the rest, we thought, ‘Hey, this is a great way to get those out there.'”
Sklar says many of the individual bobbleheads that could be included in your box are selling online for more than the $40 price tag attached to each package of five. No matter how many boxes you purchase, shipping is available at a reasonable flat rate.
