(KNSI) – St. Cloud Police are investigating after a driver caused significant damage to an Xcel Energy light pole Tuesday evening.
Just after 5 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of 15th Avenue Southeast and University Drive Southeast. They say a 22-year-old driver was speeding down University Drive westbound and lost control of his vehicle, crashing into the light pole. Both the pole and the vehicle were damaged, but no one was injured. The vehicle has since been towed from the scene.
The SCPD says the investigation is ongoing. The driver may face criminal charges.
