(KNSI) – A community group is organizing a day of action in St. Cloud on Friday, May 1st, as part of a nationwide May Day demonstration.
Americans for Democracy, a local organization, has scheduled a series of events under the banner “May Day Strong.” According to a release from the group, the day is intended to show solidarity with workers and to advocate for fair wages, workplace safety, and the right to organize. The release says the event is part of a national effort that includes a “No Work, No School, No Shopping” strike.
The day begins with a sign-making session from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a rally from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the St. Cloud Regional Library. A barbecue is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Wilson Park.
Organizers say the events are open to the public.
More information is available on the group’s website, or by emailing afdstcloud@gmail.com.
