(KNSI) — Central Minnesota is in the slight risk area for severe weather over the next couple of days.

As of early Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service says thunderstorms can be expected late in the afternoon through the early Friday morning hours for mainly west-central and central Minnesota. A few storms could be severe, with the main hazards large hail and damaging winds.

Heat and humidity will stick around Thursday and Friday, with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Scattered severe thunderstorms can also be expected Friday afternoon through Friday night as a cold front pushes in from the Dakotas. There is a chance for thunderstorms again on Saturday with a high around 80. The mid-70s and lower humidity will move in for Sunday.

Of course, this is Minnesota and it could all change.
