(KNSI) – Voting for this summer’s primary election starts Friday with a new location in Stearns County.

Auditor-Treasurer Randy Schreifels says absentee balloting for the August 9th Primary is open 46 days before the election. Residents can vote in person at two locations.

A voter can cast their ballot at the new St. Cloud City Hall or the Stearns County Service Center in Waite Park. Voting will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on Saturday, August 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Stearns County Administration Center in St. Cloud is no longer a voting location.

To vote absentee by mail, you must apply for an absentee ballot online at mnvotes.org or contact the Auditor-Treasurer’s office and an application will be mailed or faxed. Voters will have the option to track their ballot online.

For questions or an absentee ballot, call the Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer’s office at 320-656-3920 or email elections@co.stearns.mn.us.
