(KNSI) – An evening of shopping will help support a women’s shelter in St. Cloud. Terebinth Refuge, a shelter for women and their young children hoping to escape a life of sex trafficking and exploitation, hosts Stronger Together, a fundraiser and informational night Monday, March 21st at 7:00 p.m. at the Park Event Center.

Danica Simonet, development director for the Terebinth Refuge, says the night will feature 16 local vendors who will donate a portion of the night’s proceeds to the program, as well as a roundtable discussion featuring local leaders working to eliminate sex trafficking from the area.

“All of those individuals will be speaking about the importance of community collaboration, their involvement with Terebinth Refuge, and really the collaboration and partnership and unity that is needed to fight trafficking”, Simonet says. “Community and collaboration are so essential to end this horror and I would say most important to give women who have survived everything they need to live a life of independence, self-sufficiency, and wholeness.”

The Stronger Together program is free, but pre-registration is required. Click here to register.

Terebinth Refuge has been active in the area since 2018. According to Simonet, the refuge stresses a holistic model of healing. “So we’re still a fairly new organization, but we provide holistic comprehensive services for women and their small children that have experienced trafficking or sexual exploitation”.

Simonet says the program sees about 45 individuals a year, with many more on a waiting list to enter the program.
