(KNSI) – Tri-County Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information about a St. Cloud killing that has gone unsolved for 26 years to come forward, and it’s offering a reward of up to $5,000.
Damien Maurice Tapper was 22 years old when he was killed in a drive-by shooting on November 1st, 2000. Sunday marks 26 years since his death.
Tapper was driving east on University Drive, just west of the University Bridge, when he was shot. According to St. Cloud police, witnesses said the gunfire came from another moving vehicle that was also heading east.
No one has been arrested in the case.
The enhanced reward is part of a Crime Stoppers push on several unsolved murders in the tri-county area. The money goes to anyone whose information leads to an arrest and formal charges.
Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Tri-County Crime Stoppers website or by calling 1-800-255-1301. People can also call the St. Cloud Police Department directly, but Crime Stoppers says anyone who contacts a law enforcement agency won’t be able to stay anonymous.
