(KNSI) – A motorcyclist is dead after a collision with a pickup truck Monday afternoon in Langola Township.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the intersection of 160th Street Northwest and 5th Avenue Northwest at 4:16 for a crash.
Investigators say a Ram 2500 pickup driven by a Rice man was making a left turn to go east onto 160th Street Northwest. At the same time, a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Russell Hohmann was headed north on 5th Avenue Northwest. The two collided in the intersection.
Hohmann suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver was not hurt.
The sheriff’s office says it believes the driver of the pickup did not see Hohmann because of the upward slope of the roadway.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
