(KNSI) – A Cushing man was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital early Saturday morning after his vehicle stalled on railroad tracks in Randall and was hit by an Amtrak train.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of a vehicle versus train crash on East 6th Street in Randall at about 2:30 a.m.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 62-year-old James Pogreba’s vehicle stalled on the tracks. Pogreba was able to get out before the Amtrak train struck it; however, he was hit by debris from the crash.
The man was airlifted to CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital by Life Link III. The extent of his injuries was not released.
Randall Fire and Rescue, Life Link III and Mayo Clinic Ambulance assisted the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
