(KNSI) — The Sartell Police Department is getting another four legged crime fighter.

K9 Echo has just joined the force and came home to live with his handler, Officer Curt Grosz. Echo is getting used to his new surroundings and will attend training this spring. Once he graduates that program, K9 Echo will immediately be on patrol with Officer Grosz for dual purpose work in narcotics detection, tracking, and apprehension.

K9 Echo’s new enclosure came courtesy of the Sartell Public Works Department, and Collins Brothers Towing of St. Cloud hauled it to its home.

K9 Echo joins K9 Kimber on the force.

Kimber began her career for the Sartell Police Department in September and is paired with her handler, Officer Kari Bonfield. Kimber is used in critical incident debriefs, daily staff interactions, and interacting and supporting victims of trauma or crime.
