(KNSI) – Traffic can again start moving on part of County Road 1, also known as Riverside Avenue South, in Sartell.
Officials say the road opened around 6:00 a.m. for local traffic between 5th Street North and 12th Street North. The road will remain closed between Sartell Street and 5th Street North due to ongoing work in the area. Local businesses near Sartell Street will continue to be accessible from the south.
According to the City of Sartell, the trail is paved but will not “officially” be open until the crosswalks and crosswalk flasher systems have been installed this winter or early next spring. The project is part of a large redevelopment approved by the city in July of 2021.
Drivers have been taking a long detour since the project began in April. Motorists can still expect traffic delays on or near Pinecone Road.
