(KNSI) – The 2nd annual St. Cloud Humanitarian Awards will be handed out on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Humanitarian Awards Committee selected four award winners and their names will be shared during the MLK Community Celebration on Monday, January 17.

The committee had been soliciting nominations from the community. The humanitarian award goes to a group or person who’s worked with communities in need in central Minnesota.

According to a press release, those selected live the idea of MLK Every Day by inspiring people and are passionate to care for others and live with service.

In 2021 the MLK Community Celebration added the Humanitarian Awards. The goal was to celebrate individuals or groups that live the idea of MLK Every Day.

People intreated in attending the event are encouraged to register for the event, where they will learn more about the award winners and hear from some of the winners directly.
