As the state’s fourth wave of COVID cases continues, hospitalizations continue to increase. There are 547 patients currently receiving care in Minnesota’s hospitals due to COVID, up 33 patients compared to Monday. Just over a quarter of those patients (153) are in the ICU.
Meanwhile, last week was the state’s best week for COVID-19 vaccines administered since the number of doses given started to drop earlier this summer. From August 15th to the 21st, 62,284 Minnesotans received either their first or second dose of the vaccine. So far, 3,286,648 Minnesotans have gotten at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That’s 69.9 percent of the state’s 12-and-older population and 59.1 percent of all Minnesotans.
