(KNSI) – As new cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota continue to stay low amid vaccinations, the five-county St. Cloud area confirmed zero new cases of the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.
In the Minnesota Department of Health’s latest report, Benton, Sherburne, Morrison, Stearns and Wright counties did not have any new cases out of the 79 found statewide. Minnesota also did not report any new COVID deaths statewide Tuesday. The new cases were found out of Monday’s test volume of 5,069 tests.
This comes after Benton County went nearly a week without any newly confirmed COVID cases.
On Monday, the state reported 82 new COVID cases and five deaths. Seven of those cases were found in the five-county area, but those counties did not have any new deaths from the disease.
COVID vaccinations across the area, state and country continue to tick upward, with 64.9 percent of all Minnesotans age 12 and older now vaccinated with at least one dose. Wright County has the highest vaccination rate among its eligible population in the St. Cloud area, with 55 percent of residents 12+ vaccinated.

- State of Minnesota: 64.9 percent
- Wright County: 55 percent
- Stearns County: 51 percent
- Sherburne County: 47 percent
