SAINT CLOUD (KNSI) —
The Sartell Sabres fell to the Mahtomedi Zephyrs in the class AAA State Tournament semi-finals.
The Sabres threatened to score in several innings but were unable to plate a run against Zephyr starter Tony Neubeck. For his efforts, he was named the All-Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Game.
The Zephyrs methodically built their lead scoring a run in all but one inning. They came away with a 7-0 win.
The Sabres will play in the third place game later today against St. Thomas Academy.
