SAINT CLOUD (KNSI) —
The Sauk Rapids Rice Storm fell to the Mahtomedi Zephyrs in the class AAA quarterfinals.
Zephyrs starter Luke Loughlin was dominant pitching 7 scoreless innings. Landon Lunser went the distance for the Storm.
Tony Neubeck hit a 6th inning homerun to give the Zephyrs a 2-0 lead. The Storm threatened to score in the 7th inning but were unsuccessful and Mahtomedi came away with a 2-0 win.
Neubeck was named the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Game.
The Zephyrs will play the Sartell Sabres in the semi-finals tomorrow at 2:30.
