SAINT CLOUD (KNSI) —
The Sauk Rapids Rice Storm defeated the Little Falls Flyers in the Quarterfinals of the Section 8AAA tournament on Thursday night.
Ethan Opsahl scored 13 first half points for the Storm who built a 48-21 halftime lead. Opsahl finished with 22 points and was named the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Game.
The Flyers tried to mount a comeback in the second half but it wasn’t enough as the Storm coasted to a 73-49 victory.
Luke Kush led the way for the Flyers with 17 points.
With the win, the Storm advance in the tournament and will play the winner of the Sartell and Bemidji matchup on Tuesday.
