
SAINT CLOUD (KNSI) — The Tech Tigers defeated the Apollo Eagles 56-54 on Thursday.
Tech kept the lead in the first half of the game with outstanding defense. However they only lead by no more than 4 points throughout. The Tigers led the Eagles 22-19 heading into the second half.
With 6 minutes to go in the half, both teams started trading shots and things got heated. Several lead changes and the girls shooting was on fire.
In the final 2 minutes, the foul game was played. The game was tied at 52 with 1 minute to go.
At 30 seconds remaining, Tech called a timeout and it was tied at 54.
A buzzer beating put-back layup by Hailie Christansen got the win for the Tigers 56-54.
Christansen was selected as the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Game for the great play at the end.
