(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 794 new cases of COVID-19 and three new COVID-19 deaths Monday. The death count includes one Sherburne County resident who was in their 80s.

Overall, the five-county area adds 56 new cases, with Benton and Morrison counties reporting just one new case each. Sherburne County sees 16 new cases, Stearns County 20 and Wright County 18.

Minnesota processed just more than 21,000 tests Sunday for a one-day test positivity rate of 3.7 percent. COVID-19 test volumes often dip during the weekend with a corresponding lower number of new cases.

Today, 543 people are being treated for COVID-19 in Minnesota’s hospitals, with 104 receiving intensive care.

As for COVID-19 vaccinations, almost 267,000 Minnesotans have gotten their first shot, and 67,000 more have received both doses needed for more than 90 percent immunity from COVID-19. These combined numbers represent about 6 percent of Minnesotans.
