(KNSI) – The Great River Regional Library is looking for local artists to channel their inner Andy Warhol for the honor of having their work featured on a library card.

The challenge is simple: create artwork that answers the question “Why do you love your library?” The contest runs throughout the month, with a deadline of June 30th. Late entries will not be accepted, and each person may submit only one design. Each entry will be judged on creativity, design, and how well it captures that central message about what makes a library worth loving.

There will be four winners, one in each category: youth (ages 0 to 12), teen (ages 13 to 19), adult (ages 20 and up), and library staff.
Anyone living in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd, or Wright counties is eligible to enter. Winners will be notified by phone, and the winning designs will be featured across the library system’s social media channels.

There are three ways to get a design into the running. Artists can drop off their work in person at any GRRL location, mail it to Great River Regional Library, Attn: Library Card Contest, 1300 West St. Germain Street, St. Cloud, MN 56301, or submit digitally by emailing communications@grrl.lib.mn.us.

Questions about the contest can go to Julie Bouchie, GRRL Communications and Development Assistant, at julieb@grrl.lib.mn.us.
