(KNSI) – This coming weekend is Take a Kid Ice Fishing Weekend in Minnesota. From Saturday to Monday, adults do not need a license to fish as long as they take a child 15 years old or younger with them.

“Ice fishing is lots of fun and is another way to enjoy the outdoors,” said Benji Kohn, volunteer mentor program coordinator with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
DNR says no ice is 100 percent safe, but there are online resources available for ice safety and ice fishing.
