(KNSI) – Catholic Charities is asking for help with its Share The Spirit campaign.

The organization says that there is a huge demand for the program this year. Acting Executive Director Renae Sternke tells KNSI that roughly a quarter of the families enrolled are still looking for their Secret Santa.

“Of those 203 families, we have many of them matched, but we have 51 families that are not matched. And those 51 families represent 219 unmatched individuals. So, we really need your listeners’ help.”

Catholic Charities says sponsors can make a monetary donation, and the organization will do the shopping for them. If you want to head to the store to pick out something special for your family, expect to spend at least $70 per person.

Sternke says the families aren’t asking for anything extravagant. “What people have on their lists…things that we would just normally go out and purchase on our own. So, they might need snow boots for the kids. A mom might want bedsheets.”

If you agree to be a sponsor, plan on delivering your gift-wrapped presents to the Minnesota National Guard Armory on Veterans Drive in St. Cloud on Thursday, December 14th. Sponsors will never meet their families to ensure privacy, but Sternke says participating still leaves you with the warmest feeling afterward.
