(KNSI) — The Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday.
The DEA says the day is a chance for the public to get unneeded medication out of their homes and a way of keeping it out of the hands of those who shouldn’t have it.
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on April 27th, people can bring prescription drugs to a collection site and put the bottles inside anonymously, no questions asked. The pills are then properly disposed of so they don’t end up in the environment.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office will be at the Sartell Walmart at that time. An earlier collection is at the Paynesville Civic Arena from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
In 2023, 1,263,622 pounds of drugs were collected during the national event.
