Moorhead 48, Tech 13: The Spuds ran for 236 yards and threw for another 216 in a dominating offensive performance.

Bemidji 41, Sartell 14: The Lumberjacks got off to a slow start for a second straight week against a central Minnesota team but come from behind for the win. Sartell led 14-13 at halftime. Bemidji went ahead for good in the third quarter on a six-yard Dawson Degelder touchdown run.

Osakis 34, Holdingford 22: The Huskers suffered their first loss of the year against the Silverstreaks. Osakis was able to keep Holdingford’s rushing attack in check. Quarterback Drew Lange had a team-high 39 yards on the ground. Lange was more effective through the air, though. He finished 14-23 for 223 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Luke Bieniek caught two of those, stacking up 123 yards in total.

Saturday, September 30

Football

Sauk Rapids-Rice 30, Elk River 28: The Storm improve to 5-0 after another narrow victory. The game was suspended after the first quarter, with SR-R up 8-6. When play resumed on Saturday, it was all Storm early. They outscored the Elks 18-0 in the second quarter but gave up 20 unanswered points to trail heading into the fourth. Shaun Walrath rumbled in from 18 yards out for the deciding score. He rushed for 155 yards in the game.

ROCORI 24, Willmar 0: The Spartan D continues to pull off its best Cornhusker black shirt impression from the mid-90’s. The shutout streak hits three games. The special teams got into the action too on a blocked kick that was taken to the house in the third quarter.

Apollo 44, Spectrum 18: The Eagles improve to 1-4. Running back Maurice Brown scored four times.
