(KNSI) – Two Cold Spring businesses were selected by the Initiative Foundation recently for Main Street Revitalization program grants.

Winners Bar and Grill on Main Street is doing some exterior improvements. It is looking to replace windows, a door, and sign, plus throw on new siding. The total renovation is expected to cost $92,590. The grant is for $26,373.

The second is for 22 3rd Street South. The building has two tenants, including a law firm and a realtor. The owner is looking to spend $10,000 to give it a new coat of paint. The grant covers $3,000.

The awards can cover up to 30% of a project’s cost for downtown businesses for new construction, renovations, or repairs. The Initiative Foundation oversees the program for all of central Minnesota, including Brainerd, Little Falls, and St. Cloud.

Thirty projects have been recommended but are still completing paperwork. The list for St. Cloud can be found here.
