(KNSI) – The theme for this year’s Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota summer benefit concert cuts to the heart of the organization and music history.

Senior Director of Communications Aimee Minnerath explains. “When kids come to the club, they learn how to respect themselves, to respect others, to respect their peers, to respect the staff. That’s what we foster in all of the programs that we offer at the Boys and Girls Club. So we thought the theme, respect, would be perfect for this year’s summer benefit”

Minnerath says the act will feature leading ladies of all musical stripes, in addition to Aretha Franklin. The group’s youth dancers will also perform. Plus, there is a rolling buffet with 12 food vendors and more.

Tickets are on sale now. You can buy them here. They run $150 for a couple and $100 for a person. Minnerath says there are other ways to help out as well.

She says, “We’re still seeking out silent auction items through the end of July. We’re looking for experiences, gift certificates, crafts, jewelry. All kinds of things that are just fun!”

Proceeds go to help programming at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota’s area locations. The benefit is scheduled for Thursday, August 3rd, at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud. It runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
