(KNSI) – A trip to the Paramount Center feels more like a trek around the world these days. Minnesota native Autumn Carolynn has a photography exhibit on display called “30 Countries in 30 Years.”

Carolynn had a stint as a flight attendant but her love of traveling actually started back in college.

“I was studying abroad my fall semester and I had this idea to go with only one carry-on. And so I went to 13 different countries in 13 weeks. I would go to school from Tuesday to Thursday, and then Friday I would fly out to the new country and stay in that country until Monday.”

Featured inside the Paramount are shots from about 18 of the countries she has visited. Carolynn’s work is exclusively landscape photography. Some are quiet, rural settings and others catch the bustle of major cities like Tokyo, Japan.

Imagine flying to the farthest reaches of the globe without knowing a single person in the country you were visiting. Carolynn did just that, and she says it was incredibly rewarding on a personal level.

“You know a majority of them I flew alone — to Australia and New Zealand and a few other ones and so I didn’t know anybody in the entire country. And I would go to the hostel showing up and then I would just make friends there and I would leave with having all these different connections. So it was really — I would say it was nice.”

The exhibit will be available until late September.
