(KNSI) – A scout leader and vital volunteer has been named the 2021 Sauk Rapids Citizen of the Year.
Steve Reese was announced as the winner of the prestigious award on Monday.
According to the selection committee, Reese leads Cub Scout Pack 8 in Sauk Rapids and volunteers around the community.
According to the committee, his work as a sheriff’s deputy exemplifies his character and leadership.
Mayor Kurt Hunstiger will recognize Reese at the May 10th Sauk Rapids city council meeting.
The Sauk Rapids Citizen of the Year award is made possible through the support of local businesses.
Each year the committee donates one to two scholarships to seniors at the high school who have exemplified the qualities of good citizenship and volunteerism.
