(KNSI) – Early voting in this hotly contested midterm election is underway.

Sherburne County Auditor-Treasurer Loraine Rupp says so far, so good, “We’ve actually had early voting since Friday and that’s been very steady. Everyone has been very cordial and pleasant and have thanked us for doing what we do.” Rupp says despite the worries of some, unusual incidents at the polls are very rare, “In Sherburne County we have not had any major issues like bomb threats and that sort of thing. We certainly hope that we never have to deal with any of that. We are prepared.” Most of all, Rupp says don’t be deterred, “The saying for us has been ‘If you don’t vote, you can’t complain.'”

Election day is Tuesday November 3. Find out all you need to know about early voting options, your polling place, and more here.
