(KNSI) — Voters casting early ballots in person for the November 3rd general election may notice there’s a different way their ballots are handled.
Previously, early voters had to put their ballots into sealed envelopes, which were reviewed and processed later. In-person voters can now feed their ballots directly into the ballot counter, the same way it works on Election Day.
Early voting is available at the Benton County Government Center, 531 Dewey Street in Foley, and the Sherburne County Government Center, 13880 Business Center Drive Northwest in Elk River. Ballots can also be cast at the Stearns County Service Center, 3301 County Road 138 in Waite Park, and St. Cloud City Hall, 1201 7th Street South. All four are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Stearns County and St. Cloud sites will have extended hours on Saturday, October 24th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Tuesday, October 27th, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Extended hours continue Saturday, October 31st, and Sunday, November 1st, both from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Monday, November 2nd, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The polls are open November 3rd from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
