(KNSI) – It’s not just food, rides, and people watching. The Minnesota State Fair features more than 20,000 animals, showcased by over 8,000 livestock competitors throughout the fair’s 12-day run.
Thom Petersen, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, loves to see the mix of farm and city, saying, “The time that people spend to talk to their city cousins here is so important and such a great opportunity for people to see. You know, our fair is an agriculture fair. It’s run by (an) Agriculture Society. We have strong roots all over our fair with agriculture and I hope if you still have a few days, come down and visit.”
You can enjoy the those farm animals from little on up as the CHS Miracle of Birth Center is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary. Nearly 200 animals, including calves, lambs and piglets are born at the Center during the fair.
