(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University has opened a space built specifically for transfer students, a group that now accounts for close to half of the school’s enrollment.
The Transfer Hub sits on the first floor of the Administrative Services Building. A ribbon-cutting was held August 31st.
Students coming in from community colleges, technical colleges and other universities can use the hub for advising, help sorting out which of their credits transfer, orientation support and connections to campus resources and student organizations. The university plans to run workshops, information sessions and community events in the space throughout the school year.
Transfer students make up about 43% of St. Cloud State’s total enrollment. More than 2,600 students have transferred in over the past three years, and that number has been climbing roughly 3% a year.
The university says putting all of those services in one location should cut down on the runaround and get transfer students settled into their programs faster.
