Three Sentenced in Feeding Our Future Fraud Scheme

(KNSI) — Three defendants in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme are heading to prison for their roles in the $250 million scam that exploited the Federal Child Nutrition Program during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Forty-year-old Abdihakim Ali Ahmed of Apple Valley was sentenced to four and a half years for wire fraud and money laundering. Thirty-five-year-old Ahmed Abdullahi Ghedi of Minneapolis received just over five years on the same charges. Both pleaded guilty in 2025.

Forty-three-year-old Ahmed Sharif Omar-Hashim of Minneapolis was sentenced to three years for wire fraud. He pleaded guilty in December 2023.

The three are the 24th, 25th and 26th defendants sentenced in the sprawling fraud case.

“These defendants helped generate outlandish and impossible meal counts at Safari Restaurant and associated sites. The numbers defied reality and exposed a scheme built on wanton greed,” said FBI Minneapolis Field Office Special Agent in Charge Christopher D. Dotson. “They stole millions from programs meant to feed children in need, and now they are being held to answer for it.”

Eighty suspects in total have been charged by federal prosecutors. The alleged ringleader, Aimee Bock, was sentenced in May to 41 and a half years in prison and ordered to pay $243 million in restitution. She has since filed an appeal.
