(KNSI) – The closure of a stretch of Washington Memorial Drive in St. Cloud will last longer than first announced.
The St. Cloud Engineering Department says the road, closed between Trunk Highway 23 and University Drive South since Monday, August 10th, will now remain shut down through Friday, September 4th. The city originally estimated the work would take about three weeks.
The closure is for planned water service replacement work in the area. A detour remains posted.
Drivers who use that stretch should continue to plan for extra travel time.
