Saint John’s Wrestler Critically Hurt In Dodge County Rollover

(KNSI) – A Saint John’s University wrestler is in critical condition after a rollover crash in southern Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 19-year-old Bo Jeffrey Zwiener of Blooming Prairie was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 east on Highway 30 in Westfield Township in Dodge County around 5:15 a.m. on Monday when the truck left the road and rolled.

Zwiener was taken to Austin Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. According to the state patrol incident report, the airbag deployed and Zwiener was not wearing a seat belt.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Blooming Prairie Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

The Saint John’s wrestling program posted a message on social media Tuesday asking for support for Zwiener, a sophomore on the team.

“Bo is a tough competitor, a great teammate, and an important part of our Johnnie Wrestling family,” the post said. “Right now, we ask that you keep Bo, his family, and everyone close to him in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the days ahead.”

Zwiener wrestled for the Westfield co-op program out of Blooming Prairie High School, where he was a three-time state entrant and a two-time state place winner, finishing fifth at 133 pounds as a junior and sixth at 132 pounds as a sophomore. He committed to the Johnnies in the fall of 2024.
