(KNSI) – Stearns County’s Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Collection Unit is making a stop in Brooten today, giving residents a chance to safely dispose of hazardous materials that don’t belong in the regular trash.

The collection runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Hatton Street near the Brooten Pavilion.

Residents can drop off items like old paint, household cleaners, and other hazardous waste that shouldn’t go out with curbside garbage or recycling.

The mobile unit travels to communities across Stearns County on a rotating schedule throughout the year. A full list of upcoming collection dates and locations is available on the county’s calendar at stearnscountymn.gov/household-hazardous-waste-mobile-unit.
