Man Dies in Cold Spring Stabbing; Suspect in Custody

(KNSI) — A man is dead and another is in custody following a stabbing in Cold Spring Saturday evening.

Officers were called to the 400 block of 8th Avenue North just after 8:30 p.m. on a report of an assault. When they arrived, they found an adult man with an apparent stab wound. Law enforcement and medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man at the residence was taken into custody and is being held at the Stearns County Jail pending formal charges.

Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public. The victim’s name will be released after the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office completes a formal identification and next of kin are notified.

The Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department continues to investigate. No additional information is available.
