(KNSI) – Foley Fun Days is underway, and the biggest stretch of the weeklong celebration is still to come.

The annual community festival goes through Wednesday with this year’s theme of Red, White, and Blue. Events kicked off Friday with citywide garage sales and a free screening of An American Tail at Free Grace United Church. Saturday’s lineup included the 15th Annual Book Sale at the Foley Library, the Foley FFA Alumni Tractor Drive, and the Kids Bike Rodeo at Foley Lions Park. According to Foley Police Officer Katie McMillin, 125 kids participated in the rodeo, and the department gave away 62 bikes.

Monday brings a full slate of events. The downtown sidewalk sale runs noon to 8:00 p.m., and veterans can stop by the stage area from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to write letters and cards. The Foley Fun Days 5K and Kid K get underway in the evening, with Kid K registration at 4:45 p.m. and the 5K starting at 6:00 p.m. Monday also marks the opening night of the Midway carnival rides and local nonprofit food stands, both running through Wednesday.

Tuesday packs in some of the week’s most popular events. The Heavenly Hot Rod Show runs 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church. Bring a nonperishable food item for The CROSS Center for free entry. Free Grace United hosts a free Ice Cream Social from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 141 4th Ave N. Family Fun Night, sponsored by the FFA, the Civic Group, and Foley Schools Early Childhood, offers free activities for children, including a Kiddie Parade at 6:00 p.m., a petting zoo, and carnival games from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Live music by Bad Code wraps up the night on the Downtown Stage from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Wednesday closes out Foley Fun Days with what organizers call “The Biggest Little Parade in Central Minnesota.” The Grande Parade steps off promptly at 6:00 p.m. Before the parade, CARE hosts a Music and Bingo for Elders event at First Presbyterian Church from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Bingo with the Foley Royalty runs at Foley City Hall at 1:00 p.m. Country and rock musician Chase Grant takes the Downtown Stage after the parade until 10:30 p.m., and the Foley Lions Cash Raffle Drawing is set for 8:30 p.m.

Throughout the week, the Medallion Hunt continues daily, with a new clue posted each morning at 7:30 a.m. at Brenny Oil Company until it is found. Find the medallion and win $100. Foley Fun Days buttons are available for $3 at local businesses, Foley City Hall, or from ambassador candidates.
