(KNSI) – Federal authorities announced charges Wednesday against five members and associates of the Family Mob, a street gang based in south Minneapolis, accused of flooding the neighborhood with fentanyl and other dangerous drugs.

Three indictments and two criminal complaints were unsealed in the District of Minnesota, targeting alleged gang members ranging in age from 38 to 48. Multiple SWAT teams executed arrest and search warrants across the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area as part of the operation.

Prosecutors allege that the Family Mob, a gang with roots in south Minneapolis dating back to the late 1990s and early 2000s, has operated a de facto open-air drug market near Lake Street and Park Avenue, using violence and intimidation to push rival dealers out of their territory. The gang is accused of trafficking fentanyl, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine throughout the area.

The five defendants are collectively alleged to have possessed more than seven kilograms of fentanyl with intent to distribute since July 2025. Silk Lamond Davis, 48, of Minneapolis, also known as “Good” or “Do Good,” was charged by indictment with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine. Alexisus Jarmon Mosby, 44, of Bloomington, also known as “Snake,” was charged by indictment with distribution of fentanyl. Kiron Jamoll Williams, 43, of Minneapolis, faces the same indictment charge of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. Rashshon Jamahl Taggett, 44, of Minneapolis, also known as “Dread” or “Lay Low,” and Lakendrick Darnell Gilliam, 38, of St. Paul, also known as “Bay Bay,” were each charged by criminal complaint with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

If convicted, the defendants face penalties ranging up to life in prison. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
