(KNSI) – The cause of a basement fire in a St. Cloud home is under investigation.
First responders were called to 1710 Clearwater Road around noon on Wednesday. When they arrived, they found smoke billowing from the basement windows.
Firefighters entered the home to search for anyone who may have been inside and to tackle the flames. No one was home, and the fire damage was contained to the basement area, sparing the upstairs from damage.
What sparked the fire is not immediately clear. The incident is under investigation by the St. Cloud Fire Marshal.
